16" Steel Power Mixer

A 16 in steel mixer that chucks into a drill and stirs gallon batches of resin, gelcoat and filler blends. The 2-3/8 in head is wide enough to fold filler through the resin rather than drilling a hole in it, and the long shaft gets down to the floor of a gallon can, where unmixed material likes to hide.

Getting a clean mix

Keep the drill slow and the head under the surface. A fast spin whips air into the batch, and that air comes back as pinholes in the cured part. Sweep the head around the walls and floor of the can, then wipe the mixer down with acetone before anything kicks on it.
