A basic all-aluminum bubble buster for consolidating wet laminate. It is not built like our detail rollers and will not last as long on production work, but it does the same job: drive trapped air out from between plies and press resin through mat and cloth so you are not sanding into voids later.
- All-aluminum heads. Survives acetone cleanup and does not swell in styrene the way a plastic head can.
- Diameters: 3/8 in, 1/2 in and 3/4 in.
- Widths: 1 in through 5 in, so you can match the roller to the size of the ply.
- Where it goes: flat and gently curved surfaces. For inside angles, use a corner roller.
Clean it in acetone before the resin kicks. Once cured resin locks the grooves, the roller stops pulling air and starts dragging the cloth.

What rollers do I use to roll out fiberglass?
Use a metal or paddle laminating roller to compact the laminate and drive out trapped air after you wet out the glass, which prevents weak, bubble-filled spots. Reach for a corner roller on inside corners, a radius roller on curves, and a detail roller in tight areas. Wet out first with a chip brush or squeegee, then roll until no more air bubbles rise.
