Peel Ply Release Fabric

Peel ply goes over the wet laminate and comes off after cure, taking the amine blush and surface contamination with it and leaving a textured, bondable surface underneath. That saves you the sanding step before a secondary bond, and more importantly it saves you from the bond that fails because somebody wiped instead of sanded.

• Secondary bonding. Pull the peel ply immediately before the next ply goes down and bond to the fresh texture.
• Surface finish. Leaves a medium texture on cured laminate, which is also a good key for paint or fairing compound.
• Vacuum bagging. Goes directly on the laminate under the release film and breather.
• Width: 60 in, cut from 1 yard up to a full roll.

Pull it while the part is still warm if you can. Peel ply that has sat for weeks on a fully cured part comes off harder and can take gelcoat with it on a thin skin.
