Overview
Alumina trihydrate (ATH) is a fine white mineral filler that adds flame and smoke resistance to epoxy, polyester and vinylester laminates and castings. As it heats it releases water and pulls heat out of the resin, which slows flame spread. That is why it is standard in fire-rated panels, electrical castings and solid-surface work.
Beyond fire resistance, ATH adds body and a smooth, machinable surface to castings. Add it to mixed resin to your target loading; higher loadings give more fire performance at the cost of a thicker mix.
Stocked as bulk powder.
