Aqua Buff 2000 - Buffing & Polishing Compound

Aqua Buff 2000 is a water-based compound for buffing wet-sanded or oxidized gelcoat back to a gloss. It cuts oxidation and fine sanding scratches, then on most jobs finishes the surface without a separate swirl remover. Being water-based, it throws no solvent off the pad and cleans up with water.

Where it fits in the finish

Bring it in after the wet sand, usually once you have worked through 1000 to 3000 grit. Run it on a rotary or DA polisher at variable speed with a wool or foam pad, and keep the panel damp so the compound never dries on it. It works on gelcoat, fiberglass and cured polyester or epoxy, so a repair patch can be polished to match the panel beside it.
