Aramid tape with a woven selvedge edge, so it does not shed fiber the way a slit strip does. Style 281 is the 5 oz plain weave everybody knows: the reinforcement you run down a keel line, along a chine, over a lap joint or across a seam that has to take abrasion and impact without going brittle.
- Genuine Kevlar® aramid, style 281, 5 oz plain weave
- Selvedge edge, woven not slit, so it will not fray as you handle it
- Widths of 2 in, 3 in and 6 in
- Cut to 1, 3 and 10 yards, or take the 50 yard roll in any width
- Use epoxy for structural aramid work
Wet it out with a brush rather than a roller. Aramid floats in resin, and a roller will lift the weave off the substrate before it has a chance to bond.
