A 2x2 twill hybrid that weaves carbon together with Innegra, a high-modulus polypropylene fiber. Carbon brings the stiffness and the low weight; Innegra brings impact toughness and vibration damping, and it does not shatter the way a pure carbon skin does when something hits it. That combination is why it shows up on surfboards, paddleboards and paddle shafts.

Where it goes: board skins and rails, paddle gear, protective layers over a carbon or glass laminate, anything that takes repeated knocks.
Impact behavior: Innegra holds the laminate together after a hit instead of letting the damage propagate.
Damping: the polypropylene fiber takes some of the chatter out of a stiff carbon layup.
Width: 50 in, cut from 1 yard up to a full roll.
Weight: 5.8 oz per square yard in a 2x2 twill.

Innegra is slow to wet out compared with carbon. Work resin in deliberately and check for dry fiber before you bag it.
