When the surface is only an inch or so wide, this 48 pack of 1-inch foam brushes puts epoxy, varnish or stain exactly where you aim it: plywood end grain, narrow trim, cleats, and touch-up coats over a small repair. The dense, fine-celled foam carries a small load and lays it on smooth.

Small brush, lots of small jobs

Detail coating tends to happen in short sessions spread over several days. Forty-eight in the box lets you open a new brush each session, or keep one per product so the stain brush never touches the varnish. Once epoxy starts to set in the foam, throw that one out and take another.
