Sierra recommends servicing at 50 hours of operation, or at least once a year, preferably at winterization. Write the date on the can with a marker when you install it. Pre-fill the filter with clean oil where the mounting position allows it, and wipe the sealing face before the new can goes on. A gasket sitting on old grit is a slow leak waiting to happen.
