12 Volt Plugs

Sockets, plugs, and USB outlets

Two different connectors get called a 12 volt plug. Accessory sockets and dash outlets (Sea Dog Deluxe, Blue Sea dash socket in black or white, Blue Sea dual USB charger) run electronics and chargers. Trolling motor plugs and receptacles from Marinco and Sierra carry real current to a bow mount and are not interchangeable with a cigarette style socket.

Match wire count and current. Marinco Connect Pro comes in 2-wire and 3-wire, the 12/24V trolling motor plug pairs with its own receptacle and bracket, and Sea Dog polarized molded connectors run 2, 3 and 4 pin. Buy the plug and the socket together unless you have the mating half in hand, because pin spacing varies between brands.
