Pettit Premium HRT Bottom Paint

HRT is Pettit's high copper hybrid ablative. An ablative wears away in use, which means it keeps exposing fresh biocide instead of building a dead paint film you have to strip every few years, and the hybrid resin gives it a smoother, more durable polished finish than a soft traditional ablative.

• Coverage: 500 square feet per gallon. Sold in gallons.
• Coats: one minimum per season, with an additional coat at the waterline where wear is worst.
• Film thickness: 3.75 mils wet, 1.5 mils dry. Maximum roller thickness 3/16 in.
• Application: brush, roller, airless or conventional spray, between 50 and 90 F. Thin with Pettit 120 Brushing Thinner.
• Works on power and sail alike, with a flat finish.
• Four colors: black, blue, red and green.

Roll the waterline and leading edges twice. That is where a hull scrubs against water fastest and where an ablative burns through first, usually right when the rest of the bottom still looks fine.
