Mold Release System Kit

The two-part release stack for fiberglass mold work. Partall #2 paste wax seals the surface, and Partall #10 PVA lays a water-soluble film over the wax as cheap insurance against a stuck pull. Wax, film, pull. The same system covers plug prep, first pulls off a new mold, and production part pulls, with polyester, vinyl ester, or epoxy.

Kit Includes

• Partall #2 Paste Wax, 12 oz (0.75 lb) tub
• Partall #10 PVA Mold Release, 32 oz (green, brush or spray)

How the System Works

• Wax the plug or mold face with 3 to 4 coats of Partall #2, buffing between coats
• Brush or spray a PVA film over the wax on new plugs, first pulls, and repaired molds; it washes off with warm water after the pull
• Once a mold is broken in and releasing consistently, many shops run wax alone and save the PVA for repairs and fresh surfaces

What You Can Do

• Pull a new fiberglass mold off a plug without tearing gelcoat
• Break in a green mold for its first production pulls
• Keep production molds releasing clean, pull after pull
