Marine Tex Epoxy Putty Repair Kit - Gray

Marine Tex is the putty you keep on the boat for the repair you did not plan on. It fills, bonds and rebuilds wood, fiberglass, ceramic, glass, metal, masonry and many plastics, handles like a creamy paste that stays put on a vertical surface, and cures to a rock-like hardness that still sands about as easily as wood.

• Mix ratio: 5 parts resin to 1 part hardener by volume, or 6.3 to 1 by weight. Bring both parts to room temperature first.
• Cure: 24 hours at a constant 72 F. Colder shop, longer cure.
• Coverage: the 2 oz kit covers about 17 square inches at 1/8 in thick; the 14 oz kit covers about 124 square inches.
• Machinable after cure. Sand or grind to shape, tap and drill, then finish with most common paints and coatings.
• Works with glass tape or cloth to bridge a hole or reinforce a structural repair.

Prep decides the bond. Clean with acetone or lacquer thinner, sand, then remove the grit before you mix.
