Interlux Interprotect Epoxy Barrier Coat Kit - Gray

A two-part epoxy barrier coat for the bottom of a fiberglass hull. The coating builds a layer of overlapping microplates that stop water finding a straight path into the laminate, which is the whole strategy behind blister prevention and post-blister repair work.

• Mixes 3:1 by volume
• 2.6 mils dry film thickness per coat (about 5.4 mils wet)
• 4 to 5 coats to reach the 10 mils dry that Interlux specifies for a full barrier
• Coverage about 240 sq ft per gallon
• Apply by airless spray, conventional spray, brush or roller
• Application temperature 41 F minimum, 95 F maximum; thin with Reducing Solvent 2316
• Sizes: quart, gallon, case of 2 gallons

Track your coats. Barrier coating is a film-thickness job, not a coverage job, and coming up short on mils is the same as not doing it.
