The same 2x2 twill hybrid construction in the black and yellow colorway, 5.5 oz per square yard on a 50 in roll. Carbon gives you the stiffness and the low weight, aramid gives you the abrasion and impact resistance, and the checkered weave gives you a finish surface that does not need paint.
Where it goes: show-surface panels, covers, guards, tank and console skins under clear epoxy.
Build rate: 0.009 in per ply, so it skins a part without adding meaningful thickness.
Width: 50 in, cut from 1 yard up to a full roll.
Resin: epoxy. Aramid takes longer to wet out than carbon, so squeegee slowly and watch for dry spots at the fill yarns.
Cut it with aramid shears, not glass shears. Aramid fuzzes rather than cuts with a dull blade, and a fuzzed edge telegraphs through a clear coat.
