Matching gauges to your engine
Gauges get picked twice: once for the reading and once for the dial that matches the rest of the helm. Sierra runs Amega, Sterling, Black Sterling, Lido, Sahara, Premier Pro and Eclipse faces. Faria runs Chesapeake white, Chesapeake black and Euro white. VDO covers 52mm (2-1/16 in) Cockpit Marine and SingleViu.
Two things trip people up. Trim gauges are engine specific, so the Faria Euro White trim gauge listed for Mercury, Mariner, Mercruiser, Volvo DP and Yamaha 2001 and newer will not read right on anything else. Tachometers split gas versus diesel and outboard versus inboard, so check the listing (4 in 7K gas, all outboard, for example) before you cut the hole.
