Whip, mount and connector
An antenna install is three parts, the whip, the mount and the connector, and people order one. Shakespeare covers all of it with 3 ft stainless and classic VHF whips, 3 and 4 ft AIS antennas, AM/FM whips on the 1 inch by 14 thread, ratchet and rail mounts, and gold plated centerpin, barrel and bulkhead connectors.
Height beats length on a small boat. VHF is line of sight, so a short whip mounted high will usually reach further than a long one mounted low, which is what the Galaxy extension masts (1, 2 and 4 ft) are for. Watch the thread too, and note a PL-259 needs the right centerpin for the coax you are actually running.
