Stainless where the spray reaches

Cabin joinery hardware is bought by material before style. Stainless, stamped or cast, is the default anywhere spray reaches. Chrome plated brass belongs in a dry cabin, and the difference shows within a season on a boat that gets washed down. Strap hinges run 1-1/8 by 4 to 1-1/8 by 6-1/8 inches, butt hinges from 1-1/2 by 2 up.

Measure door thickness before ordering a flush lock. Perko locks are cut for a material range, the black one covering 1-1/16 to 2-9/16 inches, and one that is too shallow will never catch the keeper. Hinges sell singly and in pairs here, so read the title, and a stamped hinge is lighter duty than a cast one.
