This EPS epoxy surfboard repair kit is ideal for fixing dings, cracks, and damage on epoxy surfboards, especially EPS foam boards. It features a high-strength epoxy resin system and fiberglass cloth designed for long-lasting, water-resistant repairs. How to use this kit
Epoxy ding repair for EPS and PU surfboards and paddle boards. Every kit ships with this same sheet printed and in the box.
What is in the kit

You supply: masking tape, a razor blade or sharp knife, and a warm dry spot out of direct sun to cure.
Mixing epoxy (2:1 by volume)

Measure by volume in the graduated cups. Off-ratio epoxy never fully cures. Confirm the ratio printed on your hardener bottle.
Only epoxy is safe here. Polyester resin dissolves EPS foam on contact, which is why this kit is epoxy based.
The job, start to finish
Dry it out first
A wet board will never hold a repair. Open the ding, tape a bag over it and leave the board nose down in a warm shaded spot for a day or more until no moisture beads inside. Then cut away every loose or shattered piece of glass with the razor and sand back to solid laminate with 60 grit.
Rebuild missing foam
If foam is crushed or gone, carve a plug from the EPS block slightly under flush and glue it in with a little thickened epoxy. For shallow dents skip the plug and go straight to fairing compound. Sand the plug down to just below the board surface.
Glass it
Cut two cloth patches, the first covering the ding and the second about an inch larger. Mix a small epoxy batch, wet the area, lay the small patch, wet it out until clear, then the larger one. Squeegee the excess to the edges so the cloth is wet, not flooded.
Hot coat and fill
Once cured, brush a fill coat of epoxy thickened slightly with fumed silica over the patch to bury the weave, or use the fairing compound on shallow work. Leave it slightly proud. This is the layer you sand, not the structural glass underneath.
Sand and blend
Block sand 140 through 400 wet until the repair is flush and the edge disappears under your palm. For a gloss board keep going 600 then 1000 and polish. Wait a full 24 hours before you surf it, longer in cool weather.
If something goes wrong
Foam melted
Polyester resin touched EPS. Only use the epoxy in this kit on foam.
Repair went yellow or bubbled
It cured in direct sun. Work shaded and cool.
Soft or greasy spots
Off-ratio or under-stirred epoxy. Scrape it out, wash with soap and water, redo double-potted.
Water still gets in
The board was damp when glassed. It must be bone dry first, which can take days.
Repair went milky
Moisture in the layup or amine blush. Wash with warm soapy water, scuff and recoat.
Epoxy is safe on both EPS and PU foam, which is why it is in this kit. Polyester resin melts EPS on contact, so never substitute it.
