The wide rung, now at full roll width. Twelve and a half square feet of real 5.7 oz 3K 2x2 twill in one 50 inch by 1 yard piece, so a hood, a dash, or a fairing gets skinned in a single pass with no seam to hide.

What is in the kit:

• 50 in x 1 yard cut of 5.7oz 3K 2x2 twill carbon fiber, full roll width
• 24 oz two-part epoxy kit: 16 oz thin clear resin plus 8 oz slow hardener, mixed 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener
• 2 graduated mixing cups, 2 chip brushes, 4 stir sticks

You supply: nitrile gloves.

Full width means factory edges: both long sides of this piece are the roll's own woven selvedge rather than a slit edge, so they arrive contained and will not fray. Only the two cross-cut ends are cut, and those are the ends you trim off during layup anyway.

Why the slow hardener: it gives 35 to 40 minutes of pot life at 80F instead of the 20 to 25 you get from a medium, and it cures non-blushing. Laying 12.5 square feet of twill in one pass is exactly where a short open time bites you, and amine blush is the cloudy film that ruins a skin. It sets in 5 to 6 hours and is dry in 24 to 28. Work above 70F: below that a slow hardener takes its time.

Coverage, stated honestly: 24 oz of epoxy wets out all 12.5 square feet and gives you one full build coat over it. If you are chasing a deep glass-like gloss you will want a second epoxy kit for the extra build, and that is cheaper bought separately than bundled into every kit.

Ships folded once down its length and rolled, which keeps it inside a standard box and off the carrier length surcharge. Ships UPS or FedEx Ground to the lower 48. The fabric and the epoxy resin are not regulated for transport; the small hardener bottle is a limited quantity corrosive, so the kit travels by ground and cannot go by air.
