Through-bag connectors clamp through the bagging film and give you a threaded port. Spiral tubing goes under the breather along the part so the far end sees full vacuum instead of choking off at the port. Vacuum hose runs port to pump, and the spec that matters is wall thickness, not braid, because vacuum fails by buckling and braid carries internal pressure instead.

The gauge and valve are the instruments. Close the valve, kill the pump, watch the needle: that is the leak-down test, and it is the difference between a part and a lesson. A resin trap sits between the bag and the pump and is the only thing standing between resin and a ruined pump, which matters most on infusion where you are pulling resin by design.
