PVA Mold Release Agent

PVA is the backup layer that gets the part off the mold. It sprays or brushes on as a liquid and dries to a smooth water-soluble film between the mold and the layup, so even a green mold or a marginal wax job releases. It also seals the gelcoat surface from air, which is why it promotes a full cure on polyester gelcoat instead of a tacky one.

• Water-soluble parting film, washes off the part with water
• 8 fl oz covers approximately 20 sq ft
• Best applied by spray; a soft bristle brush also works
• Spray with a small orifice gun at 90 to 100 psi, or use an aerosol
• Promotes complete cure of polyester gelcoat

Lay it over wax, not instead of wax, on tooling you care about. Wax is the release; PVA is the insurance behind it.
