Adding thickness without a full core

Coremat is a non woven bulking mat that wets out and holds a set thickness, so it builds stiffness in one wet layup ply without the weight of a resin rich laminate or the work of bonding a structural core. It comes in 2 mm and 4 mm, 39.37 in wide, in 1, 3 and 10 yard cuts, with the 4 mm also offered as a 43 yard full roll.

Use it for print control and panel stiffness, not for structure. It goes between plies and holds thickness evenly, which stops the glass weave underneath from telegraphing through gelcoat. It drinks resin, so plan quantity accordingly, and it does not like a tight radius; slit or dart it at corners.
