Rider count and ride style

Tubes are bought by rider count and by how they ride. Deck tubes (O'Brien Speedster, HO Sports Blender) sit riders prone and low and are the forgiving choice for kids. Cockpit and chariot styles (Sportsstuff Chariot Warbird 2, Airhead Viper) sit riders up and hit harder in a turn. Counts run one rider (Airhead EZ Wake) through four (Sportsstuff Bandwagon).

Rider count is a weight rating, not a seat count, so three adults can exceed the stated capacity of a 3 rider tube. Match the tow rope to the tube rating as well, because a rope rated for a 2 rider is the part that lets go first when you put three people on the tube.
