Cut to the cowling, not the boat

A motor cover is engine specific. Westland cuts these to the cowling, so a Mercury Optimax 3.0 hood and a Suzuki DF140 hood are not interchangeable. You order by make, horsepower and engine family (Four Stroke, Optimax, HPDI, Ficht), not by tape measure, and Yamaha sells OEM covers for the SHO and F60 the same way.

Two fabric grades run the line. Sharkskin SD comes in Caribbean Blue, Black and Navy; Sharkskin Plus in Sharkskin Blue, Red and White. If your engine is not listed, Taylor Made and Universal covers are sized by box dimensions (19 by 14 by 27 inches, or the XSM at 17 by 14 by 12) and go over the cowling rather than fit it.
